Wow... A year has gone by since we released our very first issue of this "little Zine". I am sort of speechless with how much traction it's gotten. I would stop short of saying we are a household name in the music scene in this province but it was pretty sobering to be walking around at Chester Fest and having people come up to me and introducing themselves.
I think that's been the best part of working this publication - meeting the band and artists that we have written about has been richly rewarding. Especially since COVID prevented that from happening for so long. In fact, the three original writers, myself, Will and Mark, had never been in the same room at the same time until we saw Zayd play at the Vizzy a few weeks ago. Speaking of those, I continue to be very proud of all the work they have been doing to promote local music. They are both great writers and even better people.
This past month we also brought in some new faces, a few of which have articles or photos in this month's Zine. Welcome to Victoria, Tracy, Janice, Tara and Andreea to the insanity that is NSMZ. On a side note, we are still looking for new writers so that we can add depth to the areas of the Province we cover and the genres we cover. So if you're interested, hit us up!
Anyways, that's it and that's all. Thanks to all the artists for taking the time to chat with us. Thanks to all of our readers who make us keep doing what we do. You all rock.
Sincerely,
Scott Roos
